Here is a sea of lupins, photographed on our visit to Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.
This border was bigger than our entire garden!

My new Grandson
At the risk of being a sentimental old bore, I cannot resist sharing this - one of the first pictures of my first grandchild. The mixture of joy and relief we are feeling cannot adequately be described.

In the midst of all the misery in today's world, war and death, recession and poverty, barbarity and ignorance, the everyday miracle of a newborn baby is a small beacon of hope for the future.

More Pictures from Chatsworth
The last of our vacation pictures (for now). Here I am with our dog, looking at the magnificent water cascade in the Gardens at Chatsworth House. (Click for a larger image)

This is the view of the house from where I was standing in the last picture.

The view of the park behind the house is stunning and was planned and planted over 250 years ago by "Capability" Brown - the famous landscape designer.
P.S. Don't I look every inch the Grandad-in-waiting?
